  20. Create professional looking disk labels whether making backups of
  21. your favorite application or listing the files on your disks. Make up
  22. to 9 labels on one 8.5 by 11 inch sheet of label paper. Program is set
  23. up to use Avery 5196 or Z-Label 15195 9-UP precut labels (3 cents each).
  24. By changing KDL.INI, you can use any label paper, for any printer, as
  25. long as they are 2.75 inch by 2.75 inch labels.

  31. Ken's Disk Labeler for Windows can create custom color labels that
  32. look like labels that come with commercial software because you
  33. can use bitmaps for borders, word art, pictures etc.
  34.  
  35. Create labels containing file names by reading the disk.
  36. Move all those ZIP files from your download directory to
  37. floppy and put a label on it that lists the number of files,
  38. the number of bytes, the oldest file, the newest file
  39. and up to 80 file names.

  41. Put a title on the label that goes over the edge of the disk,
  42. and make your disk holder work for you instead of against you.

  47. that should reside in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
  48. VBRUN300.DLL is available on most bbs because it is
  49. required by all Visual Basic 3.0 programs.

  55. 1. Copy the zipped file to any directory (EG: C:\KDL)
  56. 2. Unzip the file (EG: PKUNZIP KDL11B.ZIP) using
  57.    PKUNZIP version 2.04G or later.
  58. 3. Move or copy CMDIALOG.VBX to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
  59. 3. Move or copy COMMDLG.DLL  to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory.
  60. 5. In Program Manager, Click File/New/Program Item.

  63. Try using the sample files that come with KDL.EXE
  64. by clicking File/Open and selecting a KDL file.

  66. Try opening MSWORD.KDL, then loading
  67. bit map (File/Load Bitmap) MSWORD.BMP.

  69. PLEASE NOTE: The program/help refers to only Avery labels, and
  70. 1-UP labels.  Recently I've found labels made by Z-Label
  71. that are half the price ($16).  I bought Z-Label 15195 for inkjet
  72. printers (for my inkjet printer).  The Avery labels($34) for laser
  73. printers, work fine in my printer.  Both brands come with 70 sheets,
  74. 9 labels on a sheet.

  76. Z-label has 6 different models/types, and they all look like
  77. they could use the same INI file.  I bought labels
  78. with color because they were out of the all white labels.
  79. The printing on the edge of the disk is hard to see
  80. on the labels that have dark blue edges.

  82. The Z-label INI file is very close to the Avery INI file.
  83. I moved the label down .05 inches.

  85. KDL11B.ZIP includes both AVERY.INI and ZLABEL.INI files.
  86. KDL.INI is a copy of ZLABEL.INI.  If you change KDL.INI, you
  87. still have an original copy.
